Elementary school builds on the writing skills acquired in kindergarten, providing a solid foundation while developing the knowledge, skills, and study methods essential for success in middle school.
Elementary education comprises five years: Cours Préparatoire (6-7 years old, CP in French), Cours Élémentaire 1 (7-8 years old, CE1 in French), Cours Élémentaire 2 (8-9 years old, CE2 in French), Cours Moyen 1 (9-10 years old, CM1 in French), and Cours Moyen 2 (10-11 years old, CM2 in French).
The elementary week includes 26 hours of instruction, spread over 9 half-days: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday morning, Thursday and Friday.
Students have 36 weeks of instruction per year.
In addition to their classrooms, elementary students have access to:
The school ensures regular monitoring of learning and provides support closely aligned with each child’s educational needs. In elementary school, this monitoring is formalized through the school report, issued to parents twice a year, at the end of each semester, to document their child’s achievements and progress.
As co-education is one of the school’s key principles, sessions are organized at the beginning of the school year to foster dialogue with parents. Individual sessions with teachers also take place during the year. Additional opportunities for exchange arise throughout the school year, such as festive, sporting, or cultural events organized by the school.
In elementary school, academic support is provided to students who require assistance in consolidating their knowledge. It is organized by the teaching team, according to each student’s occasional or regular needs, in agreement with the parents.
To foster digital literacy, elementary school students have had personal tablets since 2017, used responsibly as part of their learning.
